Investors are gearing up for one of the busiest weeks of the third-quarter earnings season. The immediate focus will be on the tech leaders: Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Alphabet as those companies were among the main drivers of the rebound in the US stock market after March lows.

The world has gone remote- people were suddenly forced to work, study, shop and be entertained at home. The reliance on technology was more crucial and industry biggest players were somewhat well-equipped to rise to the challenges. The resilience and performance of the tech sector year-to-date stood out this year – mega-caps tech companies have tackled the pandemic relatively unscathed by its impact compared to the economic malaise other industries are facing.

Without a doubt, companies are navigating in a highly uncertain environment. Investors will be keen to see how leading tech companies have fared over the past 3 months. In a pandemic-induced environment where the global economy took one of the biggest hits in modern times, tech giants are seen soaring and reaching new milestones.

Apple Inc (AAPL)

The iPhone maker has fared well in the June quarter showing that their products played an important role during uncertain times.

Facebook (FB)

 Despite the economic upheaval, the biggest social network continues to grow as people spend more time online and businesses turned more to e-commerce. Facebook also keeps people informed about the coronavirus.

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) third-quarter 2020 financial results will be released after market close on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Facebook will host a conference call to discuss its results at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET the same day.

Alphabet Inc (GOOG)

Despite a significant slowdown in ad revenue at the beginning of the pandemic, Alphabet support partners and business as people are increasingly turning to online services. The second quarter saw improvement in the ads business and strong growth in Google Cloud and other revenues.
